Types of therapy I offer
I work with all sorts of people, from those dealing with deep-rooted stuff like trauma or addiction to those just trying to get their head around a recent challenge. Whether you're coming on your own, as part of a group, or representing an organisation, my experience allows me to tailor therapy to what you actually need—no one-size-fits-all approach here.
As an art therapist, I bring way more than just talking to the table. I use a huge range of creative tools—clay, postcards, sandtray work, and of course, traditional art materials. But let me be clear: you don’t have to make art if that’s not your thing. Some people love it, some don’t. If you’d rather stick with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and traditional talk therapy, that’s absolutely fine too—I’m trained in those as well. My job is to help you find what works, so you can get unstuck, feel better, and move forward.
Individuals
Therapy is personal—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you need weekly support, short-term focus, or prefer to walk and talk, we’ll find a way of working that suits you.
One-to-one sessions
Therapy sessions are 50-minutes long, either in person or on Zoom, and happen weekly at the same time, same day—your slot is yours for as long as you need it.
Sometimes, once a week isn’t enough. If you need twice-weekly sessions or longer sessions, that’s absolutely an option. If we’re deep into IFS work or working on your life story, I might suggest a 60 or 90-minute session to give us the space we need. But don’t worry—I’ll always check in with you first before making any changes, including any cost adjustments.
Therapy is your time, and we’ll figure out what works best for you.
Short-term sessions – focused & effective
Not everyone wants or needs long-term therapy. Sometimes, you just need help working through something specific—a decision, a relationship issue, a feeling you can’t shake. That’s where short-term therapy comes in.
You can book one session or a few, each 50 minutes long, to focus on what matters most right now. If you find it useful and want to keep going, great—you can always extend. But if a few sessions are enough to get clarity or relief, that’s fine too.
Short-term therapy is direct, focused, and can be incredibly effective—sometimes, a few well-placed sessions make all the difference.
Walking-talking therapy – therapy in motion
I’m lucky to be based near Regent’s Park, which is a great setting for walking-talking therapy. Being outdoors and moving can help thoughts flow, ease tension, and make opening up feel more natural.
Sessions are 50 minutes long, taking place in Regent’s Park or another nearby space. The environment around us—paths, trees, even the weather—can spark deeper conversation and reflection. Some people prefer walking side by side rather than sitting face-to-face, finding it less intense and more freeing.
You can mix outdoor sessions with one-to-one or short-term therapy, or if you love it, do all your therapy this way. It’s a flexible, refreshing alternative to traditional sessions.
Groups
Groups – therapy, connection & creativity
Group therapy can be a powerful way to connect, share experiences, and explore emotions through art. Whether it’s a one-off session on a specific topic or a regular group, I tailor the sessions to suit the needs of those attending.
I run a monthly art therapy group at Future Dreams, a breast cancer charity, providing a space for creativity, connection, and support. I also work with organisations, offering bespoke group sessions to help teams, employees, or specific communities process challenges and enhance well-being.
Group art therapy
Sessions can be 90 or 120 minutes and work well for groups of 4 to 12 people. They can be structured (focused on a theme) or open-ended, depending on what’s most helpful. I also offer full-day or weekend group workshops for deeper exploration.
If you’re an organisation looking for a unique and creative group experience, get in touch — can design something specifically for your team or community.
Life stories – exploring your journey through art
Creating a Life Story is a powerful way to reflect on your past, understand your present, and shape your future. Using images, collage, and objects, we map out key themes, life events, and personal milestones in a way that can be deeply insightful and transformative.
This work takes time—sessions are usually 90 or 120 minutes and can run for weeks or even months, either weekly or bi-weekly. The process allows space to see your life from a new perspective, uncover patterns, and make sense of your experiences in a creative and meaningful way.
For clients
Life Story work can be done one-to-one or in a group, offering a structured yet personal way to explore identity, change, and growth. It’s particularly valuable for those at turning points in life or looking to make sense of their past.
For therapists
If you're a therapist looking for a specialised, creative intervention for your clients, I offer Life Story sessions as a standalone process. Clients can work with me to create their Life Story and then bring it back to continue processing with you, or they can choose to stay on and work with me further.
If you’re interested in starting your own Life Story or offering this work to your clients, get in touch to learn more.
